HERAULT - Montpellier

The Church of Sainte-Anne was built in the 19th Century in the neo-gothic style. Its steeple, 69 meters high, dominates the whole city and stands at the heart of Montpellier's artistic quarter. The church is now an exhibition space dedicated to the contemporary arts, it is known as the "Carré Sainte-Anne". Opposite is Montpellier's national regional academy of arts, and the area boasts a stringed-instrument maker (something of a rarity nowadays!), craftmen's shops, contemporary art galleries and boutiques
