Béziers - Son et Lumière - 2017
The History of Béziers portrayed on the facade of the Theatre on the Allées Paul Riquet.
Then in 1907 came the Languedoc Wine Wars !
This was against the cheap import of wine from the countries of the South Mediterranean, one of the centres was in Béziers. A Regiment of the French Army was sent down to quell the demonstrations, led by Marcelin Albert, from the small Village of Argeliers.
The soldiers refused to fire into the crowds in Béziers. This was the last Revolt by the French Army !
