Midi Canal - Gailhousty Lock
As one travels down the Canal du Midi you come to the "Long Pound". About halfway along you reach the "Junction Canal" which leeds down to Sallèles-d'Aude, then on to the crossing of the River Aude to take you onto Narbonne. The crossing is known as "Gaihousty".
On the Left, below the house, there are a numbere of openings. channels that enable the water to escape during the times when the river is in flood.
